The DiabPro gives professional protection to Diabetic feet, and everyday comfort to delicate skin.

The DiabPro, short for Diabetic Protection, has a narrower sole in comparison to other Shear Comfort footwear, and a posted support at the heel. This boot offers the same pressure redistribution and skin protection qualities as all Shear Comfort footwear, combined with a slimline design that makes it perfect for everyday use.

The narrower sole and reduced bulk gives the boot a sleek look, and is designed for active users who use the boots when walking around the house or outside. Two Velcro straps fasten the boot securely across the top and can be adjusted to accommodate swelling.

Seams are placed on the exterior for maximum skin protection and softness, and the sole can be built up with a rocker pad if required to assist in adjusting the gait pattern. Sheepskin accommodates all foot shapes by moulding around the foot, adding stability to your everyday walking and protecting delicate skin from friction.

All Shear Comfort products are machine washable, and guaranteed against deterioration for up to 50 washes.

The DiabPro boot is sold in pairs, and is available in Shear Comfort Natural (blue).

The DiabPro has a thinner sole width than other Shear Comfort footwear styles, making it less bulky and easier to wear for active use.

Non-slip Rubber Sole

The non-slip ridged rubber sole of the DiabPro boot adds stability when walking, and means the boots can be used outside or inside.

Complete Protection for Delicate Skin

The DiabPro gives all-round protection to the feet and ankles for Diabetic feet or otherwise delicate skin. All seams are placed on the outside of the boots, so sheepskin is all your feet will feel.

Care and Washing Instructions

Wool Care Shampoo

This specialised wash was developed specifically for washing and conditioning sheepskin.

Many detergents will do a good job with wool, but Shear Comfort Wool Care Shampoo not only washes and disinfects wool, it also conditions sheepskin leather; keeping it soft and supple.

This detergent is specifically formulated to clean, disinfect and condition washable sheepskin. It kills and will remove mite allergens from all natural fibre products; including sheepskin, wool, fur, and feathers- an important consideration for people with dust mite allergies.

Shear Comfort Wool Care Shampoo is available in a handy 250 ml dispensing container that enables you to measure the exact quantity needed. There is enough in a 250 ml bottle to wash a sheepskin 10 times. Also available in an economical 1 Litre container.

Ingredients

Contains natural Tea tree oil and conditioning agents for protection against dust mites and softer wool.

Shear Comfort Sheepskin Shampoo & Conditioner contains:

Tea tree oil ( Melaleuca alternifolia ) - a natural miticide (effective against dust mites), fungicide and bacteriostat.

A unique blend of surfactants and conditioning agents that lubricate the sheepskin leather and will give an improved lustre and handle to the wool fibre.

Our shampoo has been tested by WRONZ (Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand). WRONZ found that Shear Comfort Wool Care Shampoo is effective in killing dust mites and removes all dust mite allergens

Biodegradable

Shear Comfort Wool Care shampoo is biodegradable.

Shear Comfort Wool Care Shampoo does not contain enzymes, phosphates, peroxide, alkali or bleach, which can cause irreversible damage to sheepskin leather and harm the environment.

Washing Instructions

Shear Comfort is as easy to care for as your regular clothes

All Shear Comfort sheepskins have the ability to be washed at 80° C, effectively killing bacteria without shrinkage. Our sheepskins are warrantied against being washed 50 times at this temperature without any detrimental effects to the item.

Drying instructions

Shear Comfort products may be tumble-dried warm, without exceeding 60° C To air-dry Shear Comfort overlays, hang fleece-side down and away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

To air-dry Shear Comfort footwear or targeted protectors, release all fastenings and place fleece-side down on a drying rack and away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

Specific Washing instructions

As our Shear Comfort Original items are backed with natural sheepskin, they require a slightly different washing technique from the XD1900, which is backed with fabric.

Please follow the washing instructions for your chosen item.

Shear Comfort Natural Sheepskin:

It is recommended that Shear Comfort natural sheepskin items are washed with the Shear Comfort Wool Care Shampoo with conditioner, which contains antibacterial tea tree oil and is effective against dust mites. If an alternative is used, it must be a non-ionic liquid detergent which has no enzymes, phosphates, peroxides, alkali or bleach.

Domestic washing instructions:

On a gentle cycle, wash your Shear Comfort product with approximately 20ml of Shear Comfort shampoo or approved detergent. Water must not exceed 80°C.

Industrial Washing instructions:

Wash on a gentle cycle wash for approximately 10 minutes in hot water up to 60°C using Shear Comfort shampoo or approved detergent. Rinse for approximately 3 minutes in warm water at approximately 35°C Wash on gentle cycle without detergent for approximately 8 minutes in water up to 80°C for thermal disinfection. Rinse for approximately 3 minutes in cool water.

Shear Comfort XD1900:

Shear Comfort XD1900 does not require special shampoo, and can be washed with normal household detergent up to a temperature of 80°C, although you can use Shear Comfort Wool Care Shampoo to condition the wool and utilise the fungicidal and matricidal properties of the shampoo.

XD1900 products can be laundered in the same way as Shear Comfort Natural sheepskins.
